Off to a Bumpy Start

None of my four alarms went off to wake me up to turn in my history

 essay final by 9:30 and my car inexplicably developed a flat tire between

 4am and 10am while sitting in the parking lot. Really, really hoping this

 isn't a preview of what this summers gonna be like.

 borrow their wifi to send my aunt my history essay to proof read...

Bookending The Year

Kyra and I decided to watch Legally Blonde tonight and

 then realized this was what we watched the night before

 our first week of classes and now here we are watching it

 before our last week. Pretty hard to believe it's gone this fast!

Cinco de Finals

Celebrating Cinco de Mayo in the library. Well, at least

 this guys celebrating... If you can't see his shirt says Cinco

 de Mayo and has 5 jars of mayonnaise on it. Great shirt.

One week left and I'm just now finding out my desk has an extension that 

pulls out. Woulda saved me a whole bunch of trips to the library...Bummer.

Grab-A-Date

Pi-Phi and Kappa were both founded at the same college so to celebrate

 Pi-Phis founders day we had a joint Grab-A-Date with Kappa. Grab-a-

date is basically a last minute exchange. It doesn't have a theme so we

 don't have to worry about a costume but we only have about an hour to

 find a boy to take, or "grab-a-date," if you will. Tomorrow's the official

 start of dead week so it's also our last event of the year. 

Pi Phi Founder's Day

Our founder's day was this weekend so on Tuesday in

 place of chapter we had a delicious dinner at The Faculty

 Club on campus and chapter awards were announced. 

Perks.

It's so nice having access to fruit here... It's such a

 rarity in the dining halls which drives me nuts!

Finals Wait For No One

Drove to Galveston to see my mom and brother who were in

 town visiting my aunt. Unfortunately I couldn't relax as much

 as I would've liked thanks to finals in two weeks. I also get

 good daughter points for missing my last weekend of fun at

 LSU to come see them... just sayin...

Our Secret Garden

Sloan and I discovered this delightful little garden hidden

 away on campus AND there's even a Starbucks in the building

 next to it. I'm predicting this will be my new hangout/study spot.

Bragging

Normally a B wouldn't be something to get all excited about but

 after busting my butt on 4 consecutive essays for my history class I

 finally got a B! Mind you, this was supposed to be an easy class but

 my professor decided to become a super hard grader this semester. A

 history major in my class even said that this is the last history class

 he has to take before he graduates and these are the worst grades

 he's ever gotten, so It's not just me!

Senior Wills

On our last chapter meeting of the year its a tradition for the seniors

 to pass down old Pi Phi shirts and other random things to the juniors,

 sophomores and freshmen. I didn't think I'd get anything because I don't

 know very many of the older girls. But one my Gamma Chis from rush

 ended up being a senior Pi Phi (we weren't allowed to know what sorority

 they were in during rush) and she passed down some old shirts to me!

Just My Luck

Ever since spring break I've been trying to eat as healthy as

 possible and of course I decided to come to chapter meal on

 Chicken Alfredo night. Looks like salad and veggies for me.

What Are Sisters For?

Three weeks left of classes and I'm out of PAW Points.

 Thankfully I know people like Kristyn who somehow

 still have 250 left to buy me coffee!

I'm still not okay with the fact that I haven't had one class cancelled this

 entire year. NOT ONE. But getting out 45 minutes early?... Eh, I'll take it.

The air in our room has been broken since before spring break.

Back to Reality

Spending the last day of spring break in the library working on a History paper. No fun!

 good thing because I'm not sure I could even make it another day here.

House Dinner

Amazingly enough we were able to get everyone in the house

 together to go out to dinner. We went to a restaurant called

 Lambert's "Home of the Throwed Roll." It's apparently famous

 around here but I'd never heard of it before. It reminded me

 a little bit of Cracker Barrel but the waiters throw rolls at you.

Spring Break 2012

Headed to Gulf Shores for the week! I'm in a condo with 17

 other girls from my pledge class... Should be interesting.

Happy Easter!

Sadly my first year without an Easter basket from

 mom but I'm grateful I got to be with family.

Don't Mind If I Do

Kind size bed all to myself, delicious Texas food and no schedule

 whatsoever? ...Maybe I should just stay here for all of spring break.

I Prefer To Use The Term Resourceful

Saving myself a trip to the grocery store by stealing produce from
 the dining halls... Yeah, I definitely inherited my dad's cheapness. 

Songfest

Songfest is a choreographed dance competition among the fraternities and

 sororities hosted by the LSU Greek Board of Directors. It originally began as

 a men's singing competition and has evolved over the past 90 years into what

 is it today. Each sorority is paired up with two fraternities and they work on

 a song and dance routine for about 5 weeks before the performance. This year

 we were paired up Phi Delt and Delta Chi. It was very time consuming -and at

 times that was frustrating- but overall a great experience and I got to meet a

 lot of people I wouldn't have met If I hadn't done it. 

One Last Yummy Free Meal

Formal

Family Crawfish Boil

I think crawfish boils are the only thing people do here during this

 time of the year. There's one going on somewhere on campus for one

 organization or another just about everyday. 

Sweep Sweep

My mom came to town for my formal this weekend. I took her to the LSU

 Baseball game Friday night against Arkansas. This ended up being the

 first of three victories for the Tigers (ranked No. 15)  in their weekend

 series against Arkansas (ranked No. 3)! 

Quick Fix

I can honestly say Panera is one of the things I miss most

 from home. There aren't any in Baton Rouge though so I

 had to resort to a Wendy's salad. Yes, I know it's Wendy's

 but It's healthier than the alternative (dining hall food).

"It Never Rains In Tiger Stadium"

...but it sure does rain everywhere else in Baton Rouge! The weather here is so

 unpredictable. I've figured out I need to dress for the heat but also have a rain

 jacket with me wherever I go, just in case. Because the sky sure didn't look

 like this when I entered Walmart 10 minutes earlier.

Nola Day Trip

Sloan's friend from home plays baseball at UMBC and was in Nola

 playing Tulane so we drove down for the day to go watch the game.

THE TIME HAS COME!!!

I've been to a good amount of midnight premiers but I don't think I've

 ever been as excited for a movie as I was for The Hunger Games!

"You see what happened was..."

I'm not sure how to do it myself but there a way to send an e-mail

 to all the students in your class. So before a big test or assignment

 it's not uncommon to get messages from people asking for notes or

 something. There's always some kind of excuse for why they missed

 class however I enjoyed the effort and creativity this particular

 student put into his excuse. I hope someone sent him those notes. 

I feel like no matter your major (at least for undergrad), if college

 teaches you anything it's how to get by using the least amount of 

effort possible by using your connections and resources. 

Is this real life?

Things are going way too well right now, I'm actually a little bit worried...

Coming back from getting a 100 on my math test I got a front row parking

 spot outside my dorm- which literally does not happen. I normally have to

 drive around for 30 minutes looking for a spot and then end up parking in

 the boonies and having to walk really far. 

Can I Major In Procrastination?

 It's clear that Spring Fever has hit when I have a test 

tomorrow but painting my nails still sounds like a good idea.
